MUST LISTEN: Traveling By Feet by Twin Lobster

/ 29.6.11 /

1:13am. I just discovered this track from Twin Lobster called Traveling by Feet and I couldnt stop playing it! It's not my usual late night song but I think Liz Fraser could rest her voice early tonight. Traveling by Feet is part of Twin Lobster's third album 3 and it's such a shame that I just discovered it now! By the way, Twin Lobster is a local Pinoy indie band with three members. Their brand of music is a mixture of 90's rock, metal, electronica and other indie elements that make their sound unique. You might want to visit their Facebook page for more info about the band. Check out this awesome song here!

PHOTO SET: Fête de la Musique ala Mode

/ 26.6.11 /

BAM! Probably the main attraction last night. Went to Fete de la Musique at the Fort Strip last night but wasnt able to stay that long. Thanks to Arnie's boobies! haha no. Arnie was hungry, so instead of buying herself a burrito, we crashed a birthday party in Makati to eat! We thought we could go back to Fete to watch Pedicab and BadafPunk but we got held up in a French birthday party.

GUESS WHO'S BACK: Anggun

/ 25.6.11 /

I am sure every 90's kids know who Anggun is. If you dont, this song should refresh your memory...

Yes, she's the Indonesian singer who made it snow on the Sahara...in her song at least. I remember playing my cassette tape of her album while imitating her hand moves. haha! I also saw her short gig at SM Megamall when she had her promo tour here in Manila. Check this link to watch her performance on Eat Bulaga! haha

She might have disappeared in our airwaves but she's still pretty big in France. Anggun will be releasing her 9th English/French album Echoes this September and she just released a single called Only Love and I kind of like it. Watch the video below.

NEW MUSIC: Shuffle by Bombay Bicycle Club

MUST WATCH: Queen of Hearts by Fucked Up

/ /

I am not a big fan of noisy music but there's something with Fucked Up that makes me enjoy it. Probably coz of the live performances that made me a fan of this Canadian band. I just love watching Pink Eyes (Damian) going crazy on stage. He's my male version of Gossip's Beth Ditto. You might not see his crazy antics on their video for the single Queen of Hearts but it's definitely a must watch. I wish I had the same class when I was in grade school where we could just shout to each other and sing like on the video :) Fucked Up third studio album, David Comes to Life is still available under Matador.

Check out this live performance by Fucked Up featuring the nerdy Ezra Koenig of Vampire Weekend...

NEW MUSIC: Hits me Like a Rock by CSS

/ 22.6.11 /

After three years of hiatus, the Brazilian indie ravers CSS are back with a new single! Lovefoxx and the gang is set to release their new album La Liberación and the first single can be streamed here! It's called Hits me Like a Rock featuring Bobby Gillespie of Primal Scream.

MUST LISTEN COVERS: Bon Iver, Mumford & Sons and Patience Dear Juggernaut

/ 21.6.11 /
It's Tuesday here in Manila and I'm starting my day with three of my favorite cover songs of the moment. Let's start with Wincy Ong's solo project Patience Dear Juggernaut covering The Cardigans' Heartbreaker with a little help from his girlfriend Cj de Silva.

Not really a fan of Mumford & Sons but their rendition of The National's England made me look at their music catalogue and quite enjoyed some of their tracks.

And I'm going to end this post with Bon Iver covering Bonnie Raitt's I Cant Make You Love Me. One word: PHENOMENAL. This is probably my favorite cover song that Bon Iver did. It's heart wrenching, totally emotional and Justin Vernon's voice is just beyond!

MUST WATCH: Shook Down by Yuck (NSFW)

/ /

YUCK! Yes, that's the name of the band and also what you're going to say while/after watching their music video for Shook Down. I am so in love with this song and it's one of my faves from the band's debut album. So, if you can't stand the clip, you can just go to a different tab or close your eyes but pay attention to the song. It's really kind of sweet.
