JOY!!

Here are two of my recent most played/loved tracks!

BTW, YUCKZINE issue number two will have its launch!

Bside-Skye Lounge-CubaoX

3 parties. 27 shots. 1 camera. That's how cheap I am! haha

This first party was in Bside for some event I forgot what it was. I saw Claren. Havent seen this guy for quite some time. He's the one who edits some of my HTML problems in my blog. He has this awesome blog too!

Here's paul when he still has a normal hair color. Will be posting his new look soon

Not sure if this was Dott or the young bassist of Skies of Embers

Shin x Thysz

It was really pretty dark there..

Bananadrew's fag

Kate Torralba hugging Kiko Escora

Then off to Skye Lounge @ BGC for the Garage Young Talent party to meet THE mark lim

...and Khaz, Ziggy and Maco. Sinung pinaka mataray?! haha

Thysz second appearance! loved the chain necklace.

The music was pretty decent that night compared to the last Garage event. Thanks to this DJ.

Fold and Nan

After the Garage, we went straight to CubaoX for the Pains of Being Pure at Heart party. It was Wednesday so Chie's spinning some neat tunes for Strict Rules of Polite Society :p

BAWAL MAG CR!!!

So they just released the bands set time for the upcoming Laneway Festival Singapore leg which I will be watching with some friends next month. MAJOR DILEMMA!!! There are two stages! I really dont know how are we going to transfer from one stage to another coz seriously, I love all of the bands/artists that will be performing and I wanna see/watch/hear/smell them up close!!. GAD!!! Well, probably, I will do a restroom break during Anna Calvi's set but it will be a quick one coz I also like her music. SO HELP ME GAD!!

So here's the set time sked!!

AND I CANT WAIT TO WATCH THESE GUYS PERFORM!!!!!

Here's the full band line up of the Laneway Festival Singapore!

BAND CRUSH: The Ice Choir

Did I just unearth an amazing track from the early 1980's?!

Not really. Though Ice Choir's music might sound like a replicated record from the heydays of new wave years, this Brooklyn-based band makes it easier for me to appreciate the early 80's pop outfits. They released their debut single Two Rings last year and it's burning my playlist as of the moment!

I also love their song The Ice Choir which is also included in the Two Rings single. LOVE LOVE LOVE!!

Plus hello! It's fronted by The Pains of Being Pure at Heart drummer Kurt Feldman (I'll see you in Singapore and here in Manila!!!) *faints*

He's also from the now disbanded The Depreciation Guild :(

NEW MUSIC: Heart in Your Heartbreak by The Pains of Being Pure at Heart

If you clicked this link because you thought that Heart in Your Heartbreak was the saddest song from a band that plays music with suicidal tendencies then you could be right but The Pains of Being Pure at Heart does it in a very subtle way. So subtle that you'll find yourself dancing by the time the first beat hits your eardrum and you won't notice that Kip Berman is singing about a girl who is the 'heart in your heart break/the mis in your mistake...she was the tear in your rainstorm/she was the promise that you never swore/and no matter what she said it's never gonna come back' :( . But no matter how painful the words are, The Pains of Being Pure at Heart made sure that it's still fun, sunny and all the adjectives that describe indie-pop. Heart in Your Heartbreak is the first single from their sophomore album Belong out on March 2011.

MUST WATCH/LISTEN: Say No To Love by The Pains of Being Pure at Heart

It's raining right at this very moment while i am writing this post and the new single from The Pains of Being Pure at Heart makes me suddenly missed sunny days. Pains' brand of indie-pop reminds me of the earlier Sarah Records bands particularly Field Mice but more cleaner. It has that C86 sound and the charm of twee without losing that modern pop sensibilities. I totally love this song! Intro palang, pasok na!

I also love the accompanying video for Say No To Love featuring the band's keyboardist Peggy Wang enjoying the hot summer days while the rest of the gang plays somewhere else. Check it out
