RAG HAG: Own, Flaunt, Theme, Adbusters, Clear and Ranked magazines

There's always a surprise every time I visit Booksale and last Monday was not an exception. I wasnt able to find the regular titles I look for but I was happy with what I bought. I got 6 amazing magazine titles in different genres.

The first mag that I got was OWN. It features men's products and fashion in a catalog-type presentation.

I love how they curate things..

very minimal

They often do product-as-the-model type of editorial which I really love...

and the styling is not bad either...

The next magazine is ADBUSTERS

Adbusters is an activist magazine that deals with consumerism and how it affects our lives.

They use a matte book paper which gives that raw feel and I like it so much...

the pages are very graphic and arty...

and this is an ad-free magazine but they usually do spoofs of ad campaigns :)

I also got FLAUNT magazine. On the cover is the Mexican actor Gael Garcia-Bernal.

I've been searching for a copy of this magazine and I got lucky this time. Flaunt is an American magazine which features fashion and culture.

Its layout is neat and clutter free...

I love that they use quirky and iconic images...

They also did a feature on the modern day hippies and their lifestyle...

Their fashion editorial are unconventional. They usually do artsy imagery rather than the conventional glossy fashion eds...

I also got this urban hipster magazine called THEME that features contemporary creative culture.

The layout of this magazine is hodgepodge though it's curated in a neat way...

I love how they present the table of contents...

the rest of the pages are bursting with arty layout and pop images that make the magazine youthful.

(wow this post is the longest!) Then there's CLEAR magazine.

I love this one. Clear's cover page is sort of like a plastic thing which I thought was clever...

Clear follows the two-column grid system...

This magazine features fashion, art, luxury and design.It kind of reminds me of Surface and Wallpaper* on how they segment and style their images...

This particular issue sort of like an art issue and I love the arty stuff they have...

What I love about Clear is the fashion editorials. It's very clean. The styling is minimalist and neat.

And the rest of the editorial are just amazing...

And the most favorite of all the magazine finds is RANKED.

Ranked is not really a magazine magazine. It's a collectors item that features some of the works of the fashion photographer John Rankin Waddell or popularly known as Rankin. He's also one of the founding fathers of Dazed & Confused, Rank, AnOther and AnOther Man. I love how RANKED was designed...
