MUST LISTEN: Stop Taking My Time by Club 8

I'm not really sure if i dig this new single but one thing is certain, Club 8 knows how to make awesome pop music. They are not afraid of trying new sound and influences every time they come up with a record and it's one of the endearing qualities of Club 8. With Stop Taking My Time, they kind of revert back into a dancefloor-worthy club track with heavier beats and synths a la Strangely Beautiful's Saturday Night Engine but darker. This is off of their new album Above the City under Labrador.

Okay, I lied! I loved it! ;p

MUST WATCH: Kill Kill Kill by Club 8

/ 17.1.13 /
Before you eat that chicken on your plate, you might want to watch this new video of Club 8 for their new track Kill Kill Kill. Not really expecting a twee music from my favoritest Swedish band but I'd prefer this electro-lounge sound than that Afro-Brazilian thing they did on their 2010 release People's Records. Anyhu, we still have three more months of waiting before the release of their 8th studio album. For now, let's just enjoy this sorta disturbing music video. I still like my meat.

This is one of my favorite songs from Club 8 which was my official soundtrack in summer of 2002.

MUST LISTEN: Western Hospitality by Club 8

/ 12.4.10 /

I don't wanna be disappointed with the new sound of Club 8. But knowing how far they've gone before experimenting with tribal beats, I'd commend their musical ingenuity in creating fresh pop music. The People’s Record is the Swedish duo's 7th studio album following up their 2008 release The Boy Who Couldn't Stop Dreaming.

According to their official statement, “The band has traveled to Brazil for inspiration, bought records made in the 70’s in Western Africa, used a percussion player from Cuba and hooked up with producer Jari Haapalainen (The Concretes, Camera Obscura, Ed Harcourt). The result is unique mix of Swedish pop melodies and African rhythms.”

Here's the first song out of that album, Western Hospitality, to be released May 18 thru Labrador. You can download for free here

And I heard, they will be performing in Manila and Cebu this May. This is yet to be confirmed. CROSS FINGERS!!!
