Nothing excites me more than knowing our local artists/bands get recognized in international scene. For this year, one of my favorite local acts Taken by Cars was invited to showcase their awesome music in the annual South by Southwest also known as SXSW Music Festival in Austin Texas.
SXSW is one of the biggest and important music festivals in United States where it stages more than thousands of performers from around the globe in more than 90 venues. Not only can artists perform in front of thousands of music fans but also get the chance to be heard by different record label people, A & R execs and music buyers so being invited to this festival is such a HUGE deal.
But the road to SXSW is not an easy thread...financial-wise. Since Taken by Cars is not under a big major record label that could shoulder the finance of the tour, our support is needed in making this tour happen. I also hope that our government can help Taken by Cars on this one because they will be representing the Philippines and THIS is something we can be proud of.
Filipinos are more than just singing boxers and Youtube sensations! Let's send Taken by Cars on the SXSW stage and show the world that we have real talented musicians here! Now that's Pinoy pride! Oh wow, ang seryoso ko dun! lelz ;p
