Stalking the Library Kids

Last month, I got to witness a rare performance from the Library Kids in an art exhibit opening at the Blanc Gallery.

Jacob Lindo was the artist exhibiting that night.

They did an intimate acoustic set of their originals and covers too. It was the perfect venue for the Library Kids' music.

and im craving for a big mac in this hour...

anyway, i found this Chicago-based indie band on my inbox and their music totally satisfied my burger cravings (not really). The Pear Traps play a delicious mix of folk-pop and indie-rock glazed with lo-fi haze, INSTANT BAND CRUSH! Since I am too lazy to pick up the phone to call mcdonalds delivery, I'm just going to listen to The Pear Traps' Elsewhere EP until I doze off.

Before you list down your top/best/favorite whatever of 2012, you might want to check out this duo whose brand of indie folk might put them on your number one spot. Barely a month old project, Library Kids' dreamy take on folk music can be compared to Bon Iver, Fleet Foxes or even Sigur Rós with pop sensibilities. NEW James Iha Song!!!

Being a fan of James Iha's debut solo LP Let It Come Down, I couldnt help but be anxious to hear the entirety of To Who Knows Where, the lead track of his new album Look to the Sky, when I saw the teaser. So I googled if there's a streaming of the song and voila! I found a streaming of not just the song but the whole album! Thank you technology! I just dont know how long will this be available for streaming so listen to it while it's here!! It's sooo goood!!

BAND CRUSH: The Belljars (Sweden)

It's been a while since I had a band crush post and this next act definitely needs a special attention. If you missed the sound of The Sundays, The Cardigans, Cranberries, Frente and Moonpools and Caterpillar then The Belljars might just fulfill your longing. Their brand of indiepop gives me that sweet nostalgia when I first heard The Sundays...aaahhh. good vibes all the way. Check out their 4-track EP below and swoon.
