anyway, i found this Chicago-based indie band on my inbox and their music totally satisfied my burger cravings (not really). The Pear Traps play a delicious mix of folk-pop and indie-rock glazed with lo-fi haze, INSTANT BAND CRUSH! Since I am too lazy to pick up the phone to call mcdonalds delivery, I'm just going to listen to The Pear Traps' Elsewhere EP until I doze off.
Before you list down your top/best/favorite whatever of 2012, you might want to check out this duo whose brand of indie folk might put them on your number one spot. Barely a month old project, Library Kids' dreamy take on folk music can be compared to Bon Iver, Fleet Foxes or even Sigur Rós with pop sensibilities. Just Vernon has a weird-looking, hairy pair of nips. Bon Iver will be releasing a deluxe edition of the self-titled sophomore album. But instead of including new tracks/remixes, they will make a video for each track. That includes this clip of the song Hinnom, TX. I SO LOVE THIS MUSIC VIDEO! There's nothing going on actually on this video just some driver's point-of-view while driving into a sunset. I dont know why but I am saddest when on the road during sunset.
Sorry. I just need to release that off my chest. I literally had to stop their music so I could write this post because my mind wonders the oblivion every time I hear Alice Costelloe's voice. Big Deal's music is just so good! Havent felt this in love with a band in the recent times since The xx.
Big Deal is a girl/boy duo from the UK comprises of Alice Costelloe and Kacey Underwood. There is a big surge of boy/girl duos lately but the Costelloe-Underwood love team is the Guy and Pip of the category. They are not really "lovers" but it's more like a musical relationship that makes this duo a perfect couple.
They just released their debut album, Lights Out, and listening to it is like reading my highschool diary materialized in songs with layered acoustic and electronic guitars and fragile voices blended in perfection. If Iceland used this as their tourism ad, I swear people would book a plane ticket after watching it. I've never seen Iceland this beautiful! No wonder National Geographic premiered Bon Iver's Holocene music video on the channel.
I really cant wait for The Twilight Sad's new record! Buti I have readers who send me music via email! The band recorded an acoustic session featuring 8 tracks from their past albums and they are giving it away for free! James Graham's thick Scottish accent is so adorbz!
