How to make it in America?

...how about a fundraiser?!

After Taken by Cars being invited at the SXSW music fest, another Pinoy indie gem will invade the Continental US! This time it's Outerhope! They will be performing at the NYC Popfest on May 17-20, one of the biggest indie-pop music festivals in the world! On March 3, Attraction! Reaction! will host a fundraising show to help bring Outerhope to New York. If you're not at the Malasimbo music fest that night, might as well head to Route 196 and watch Outerhope perform along with Eggboy, IdKids and Mount Analogue. Pinoy Invasion!

Here's one of their best songs!

Blur @ Brits!!!

/ /
And then my longing for everything 90's continues while watching Blur's five-song set at the Brit awards last night. They were given the Outstanding Contribution To Music award and they ended the show with the longest show-closer ever in the history of Brits!

They opened their set with one of my fave Blur songs Boys & Girls and then Song 2! And then comedian Phil Daniels joined the guys for Parklife.
Blur performed Tender with a 32-piece gospel choir and then ending their set with This is a Low. Perfection!

And this melts my heart when Noel Gallagher and Damon Albarn hugged during the awards.

It's my dream to watch Blur live and I hope Ovation Productions bring these guys here sooner or in 10 years time. haha

MUST WATCH: Forget About Her by Patience Dear Juggernaut

/ 20.2.12 /

Summer on a rainy day! Thanks to Patience Dear Juggernaut's new music video Forget About Her for the three minutes of sunshine. This is still from his debut solo album Girl the Impaler. Cant wait for the second one! :p

MUST LISTEN: For You by Little Chords

/ /

I found this track earlier today entitled For You by Little Chords and it kinda sound like Up dharma Down.

Especially on this track...

Well probably because of the electronic drums, the delays and samples. But other than those likeness, Little Chords' brand of shoegaze is completely different from UdD's music.

Here's another track that kinda sound like the previously mentioned. But this time, it's by Ricky Eats Acid.

Whacha think? :)

MUST LISTEN: Live Your LIfe by Yuna

/ 18.2.12 /

Check out this track from Malaysian-born singer Yuna and you'd be glad you stayed in on a Saturday night. Live Your Life is the first single from Yuna's forthcoming full-length album produced by Pharrell Williams. Aaaaaah...

BAND CRUSH: The Belljars (Sweden)

/ 14.2.12 /
It's been a while since I had a band crush post and this next act definitely needs a special attention. If you missed the sound of The Sundays, The Cardigans, Cranberries, Frente and Moonpools and Caterpillar then The Belljars might just fulfill your longing. Their brand of indiepop gives me that sweet nostalgia when I first heard The Sundays...aaahhh. good vibes all the way. Check out their 4-track EP below and swoon.

Waley na ang Laneway.... WAT DUH FAQ!!

/ 6.2.12 /
I dont even know where to start.

Let's just say it all started with my stupidity. In just one night, I lost most of the things I worked hard for- money, my Blackberry, my IDs and most importantly my passport. I dont want to go into details because there's no one to blame but me. I am just sad I'm going to miss the Laneway Music Festival in Singapore this year. I've been raving about this festival since last year, booked a flight already and even had my ticket and now, the chance of watching The Horrors and M83 in flesh is all gone. I HATE MYSELF LASLKDFAOSIJdAS:DIAPSFSJSJ :( Oh well, everything happens for a reason but
